View Full Version : percentages and comparing two values whats the best way?
Hi everyone,
Here is my problem very basic I just don't do this a lot. I am comparing jobs and man hours, trying to come up with a percentage gained or loss. Here is a picture of my example, can I do this another way and is there a better way?

Here is a picture of my example, can I do this another way and is there a better way?I don't understand what you are trying to do!, take your example 100.....75.......33.33333 the loss there isn't 33% it's 25%, the loss of 25 is 33% of 75!, can you give a bit more explanation of what you are trying to achieve?

I think that you just want
=(A1-B1)/A1
and format as a percentage
