View Full Version : Solved: Excel Freezing every 30 seconds

Possibly a bit off course here...

My 2007 Excel freezes for about five seconds every thirty seconds or so, particularly when I reformat borders and such. It "acts" like it's auto-saving, but I (think) I turned that off.

On a win XP 3Ghrz/4gig ram, 5400nvidia card machine, you'd think it wouldn't tax it. I've successfully played "Battlefield 2 Online" on this machine, which is the worst thing you could do to it. I've turned off all kinds of junk in the MSconfig. Anybody seen this problem?

It's unbearable....

Edit: OK, I think it's still saving it for the "undo" function, which goes back 100 functions! They're trying to copy the Adobe products. Once more, anybody else having same problem? Can't seem to turn the damn thing off.

Edit II: It was definitely the "undo" saving function. If you guys weant to MASSIVELY speed up excel, you can change the undo levels from 100. I changed mine to 2. The below link on directions does the trick:
