referencing of cells shows formula not values

hi,

i never come across this problem before and it could be because i activated something on excel. Anyway how do i turn make my cell reference to show values and not the actual formula... i am using excel 2007 by the way thanks heaps

Currently in xl2000, so this may be a tad different, but try going to the worksheet menubar: Tools | Options, then click the View tab and un-tick the Formulas checkbox.

You probably accidently hit Ctrl+` (the 'thingie' to the left of the 1/! key)

That toggles between Results and Formulas

If that doesn't work, you might want to try checking your calculation options in the formulas toolbar, it could be set to manual instead of automatic. I've had this a couple of times where it's just shown the formulas. :dunno
