Would it be possible for vbaexpress to remove the tracking cookie from this site?
My anti-virus software removes it at each scan on the xp machine. In Vista with UAC enabled, it causes MSIE8 to dim out and I have to click the flashing icon on the task bar to focus on the dialog prompt to acknowledge the message. This happens at each refresh or opening a new link on vbaexpress.

Kenneth, I'm going to show my ignorance. What is UAC? I have vista and have no problems at all.

UAC=User Account Control. If enabled, any programs that do this sort of thing will be stopped.
For VBA programmers, with UAC enabled, SendKeys() will not work. Other languages have problems with UAC and SendKeys() too. I use API commands to work around the issue.
UAC requires a reboot to enable/disable the feature. Start > Help > UAC will get you to the dialog to select the option to enable or diasable.
No problems with Vista, wow, you are lucky. Of course most of the blame with 32 bit compatibility probably lies with the use of VistaHP 64 bit rather than the 32 bit version.

What is the cookie called? Maybe I can find what is adding it.

I will have to check Monday to see if in fact the tracking cookie is coming from this forum on xppro. It may not be an issue.
The main problem after further investigation would seem to be adobe flash player. I have Vista64HP on the home computer. I was using ie7 and got the same UAC message wanting to install an add-in. The message is fairly uninformative. Clicking on install does not install it.
After trying several things suggested in these links, ie8 still has the problem. Firefox does not so I guess I will go back to using it.
