Just want to get a sense of job opportunities out there and what peple are doing with Excel.

I ll go first :
26 - Computer Science at University - Working in finance as a Excel developer.
Basically writing forms and generating reports programatically.

Are there any contractors out there doing this sort of work?

Wow - I ve used your Name Manager and RefTreeAnalyser- Very neat.

I was wondering - Were these tools written in VBA? Or is a C++ addin...

What books material do you use to take Excel o the professional level - Ive read Excel Professional Development which is good. Any others you would recommend.

Moved out of the help forum.......I hope you guys understand. The help forum is for questions related to excel specifically. I left a redirect until I'm sure everyone has found it.

Name Manager is an Excel addin, RefTreeAnalyser is written in VB6 and is a COM addin.
The ProExcelDev book is the top of the line, there is no place left to go once you've truly mastered what's in there except writing a better one yourself :-)
