look at your house from the sky

someone at work directed me to a really cool (albeit beta) site today:

maps.google.com (http://maps.google.com/)

search for a location and then click on "satellite" to see the real image! I was able to navigate to my old city, find my old neighbourhood and found my house... my old schools, i could see the path that i used to take as a "shortcut" to school when i was little...

it wasn't so clear to find my house in this city though... maybe too much air pollution!:doh:

Anyway, it's pretty neat to look at, especially if you're a map nerd like me.

It's just North America for now.

That is excellent. I took a look at my house, and I was able to find it. I even followed the maps down the street to the plaza, it's great. There's an addition going on to the highway, that looks like nothing happening with, but with the satillite picutures you can see it all!!!!
