Word 2003 Form Template with Macros

I have set up a Form template in Word 2003 that uses several macros such as adding a row with fields in a table upon field exit. When I save this .dot file and re-open it, the VBA code is gone and the macros do not work. What have I done wrong? All this macro stuff is new to me.

How did you open it. Did you go to file-new in Word to open it or double click on it? If so you have not opened the template file ie the .dot file. You have just created a clone of the document which will not contain the macro's.

To open the .dot file directly open a blank Word file and then go to file-open....browse to the .dot file.
