I only need to know if we CAN do it...

Suppose I want to finish typing my data into an Excel file.
I hit Save.
Then I hit a button....
Now, manually, I'd close Excel, open the Word document and run the auto-mail merge code that's in there (or let it run on Document-Open).

But what I want to know is can we do something so that the mail merge is launched without closing Excel? See...the mail merge needs to merge to this Excel document.

Alternatively, how much more difficult would it be for me to store data into a 2nd Excel file, and use "this" one for Input and Merge.

Dreamboat, using a second Excel sheet is a piece of VBA to copy your "Current" Excel Sheet to a New Workbook or a "Mail Merge" workbook that just gets overwritten each time you run the VBA, save it and open Word. The Word bit I would stuggle with but the Excel bit should be OK to do. Is that what you have in mind?

Heck, OBP. I am now considering Access. LOL!!
I can't overwrite each time. That's the whole idea.
And we have some code that runs from Excel (not using mail merge, but using bookmarks). I'm just afraid the volume will be too great to use that and that we should use a regular mail merge. I'll know more later today.

Thanks for helping out!
