Can Access read Infopath data

We are currently running two database as we are moving from one system to another at some point, but the new system (Infopath) doesn't have all the options that the current one (Access) has.

Since there is some information that is on both (Client name for example), is it possible for Access to read this information from the current open screen from Infopath, and to save this information to a currently open form in Access?

I have seen you can sync infopath and Access together looking at the infopath data files, but that is not what I am after.
