Hi, I am new to Access and I am trying to design a form in design view. I find it so confusing and not straightforward like Windows forms in VBA.

I have four boolean variables with check boxes in the form. They are one below the other in the form view. I want them all to be on the same line. But if one of them is selected (the orange outline), if I resize it, all the form lines get resized. Moreover, how do I move the boxes and the text labels?

Clicking and dragging doesn't work. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Shankar

I don't understand the problem. If you are in design view, you move any control by dragging it - I don't know why this wouldn't be working for you.

Can you post a screen capture?

I have attached the screen capture. I basically want Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri check boxes to be on the same line. If I drag any edge of the orange box, all controls seem to change. Also if I drag it, only the order of the check boxes changes. But how do I make them all on the same line? Thanks.

This sound slike Access 2007 which has annoyingly Groupd the objects.

It looks like you've actually resized the control rather than moved it. If you drag any of the little squares that you see around the edge of the control, you are actually changing the size. You can see that your checkbox control size is much wider than it needs to be. I would suggest that you drag the handle on the right border of the control back to a normal size.

Make sure when you move the control that you position your mouse away from those resizing squares. In fact with a checkbox, it may be easier to drag the label - the checkbox will automatically move with it.

Sorry, am not still getting it.
If I try to resize any check box control, then all form controls (including customer name) get resized.
Also when I try moving a checkbox, it only changes the order. I still cannot get them to be all on the same line.
Am I missing something? Thanks.

If this is Access 2007, you may have to Ungroup the objects before you can work on them individually. I do not know Access 2007, but this is from another Forum

"Access 2007 does group controls for a more uniform appearance. Its a feature I dislike, though it does have advantages. You can ungroup the controls under the Arrange tab when in Form Design mode. In the Control Layout section, you will see a Remove icon that removes the Grouping."
