Hi folks

I would like to plot two series togheter in the same chart like in the attached image. Can we do that with the native charts of Excel (how?) or must MS Graph be used?

Thanks. See u.

I think that this could be done, but you could be a little more specific? What do your data series look like? e.g. Do the 2 series plot different values of Y against the *same* x values? Or are the x values different as well?

Perhaps some sample data would help.

Edit: Is this what you want? (book attached so you can see what I did)

So, the idea is plotting values (ya) of a serie_a from x1 to x2 and the values (yb) of a serie_b from x2 to x3. The values of serie_a and of serie_b at x2 could be different and the two series aren't connected.

a file with data is here

the values of the two series are different at x=5 and I would like to join the two curves obtainning a discontinuous function of x.

many thanks

I think what I have attached should work fine. Just open it-->Right-click on Chart-->click source Data.

By looking at what I have under the 'Series' tab, you should be able to figure it out.

Try this. The names of the series can be changed easy enough: Right click chart->source data->series tab

All right, this works very well. I was looking for another way do that, but I will use this approach to solve my problem.

Many thanks. See u!
