Solved: File size after running queries

Hello,

When I run a query (i.e. open it) the size of the file almost doubles. It doesnt reduce back down on shut down and only reduces if I compact

Is this normal?

I thought queries were "virtual" and thus do not physically exist (as tables do) and thus shouldnt really add to the size of the file

Any thoughts

Why don't you set your database to compact on close.

Unfortunately Access is (in)famous for this. I recommend that you split the data from the frontend (if you haven't already done so) and compact your database on a regular basis as part of your maintenance.
