I am coming up with a lot of questions about the workings of the Windows Explorer display in Win 7. I don't know where to post them appropriately, so unless told not to, I'll stick them here.

I currently have a folder arrangement like this (leaving out unrelated stuff):

Desktop
...Libraries
......Pictures
.........My Pictures
............Big City
............Earthquake Faults
............Miscell Pictures <--(Empty folder)
............Scenic
I want to move the empty folder named "Miscell Pictures" up to be on the same level as "My Pictures" so that the end result will appear like this:

Desktop
...Libraries
......Pictures
.........Miscell Pictures <--(Empty folder)
.........My Pictures
............Big City
............Earthquake Faults
............Scenic

I assumed that I could make this change by dragging "Miscell Pictures" up to "Pictures" and click the "Move" option. I thought that by moving it to "Pictures" that would put it into the "Pictures" folder. I was wrong! I get the error message: "The destination is the same as the source folder". I have no idea what that means. Will someone explain to me how to move a folder?

I personally just ignore the system folders like My pictures, etc.

I just go to my documents and create my own folder named pictures and go from there.

I believe it's because you're inside the 'Libraries' structure, which are really containers for Symbolic Links (or junctions)

Goto C:\Users\Dude\Pictures

I think you'll see something like this

......Pictures
.........Big City
.........Earthquake Faults
.........Miscell Pictures <--(Empty folder)
.........Scenic

These would be the 'real' folders, so you should be able to move Miscell
