Hi,

is there any possibilty to restrict a user to open a excel file in open office application?

Check for Application = various Excel codes in Workbook Open event

here the problem is not the excel code.

when i open this file, code in this file will guide the user to update the workbook with desired process.

when it is opened in other application this code will become dead and leaves a way to update the workbook in undesirable manner.

it will really help me a lot if anyone help me with a peace of code to restrict this.

You're going to have to program VBA for Open Office.
