screenupdating in access

Hello

Is there an equivalent in access to excels screenupdating.

I am using a form and changing the recordsource after the user clicks ok. After the second one i want to delete the underlying tables so i set the recordsource to "". for a split second this changes the fields to #Name. whilst its not a major problem as it only happens very briefly for neatness i was wondering if there was an equivalent to excels screenupdating to effectively freeze the screen
