Hi, how can I escape characters in Microsoft Excel? I want to have a column of equal signs, but Excel interprets the equals signs as the beginning of a formula. How would I do this? Thanks!

Use an apostrophe or stet '

Stet gives me an error. I don't see any way that you can avoid formulas.

'=
it will then just show = even if you complete a formula, well at least in xl2010.

Oh I see, I thought you meant you entered '= in the Find dialog (which is how I read the OPs request).

You could also format your column as Text.
