Copying Values Down or Across

Is there a way when a worksheet is in AutoFilter mode to prevent hidden cells from being overwritten when a user manually copies a value and then paste that value either down or across the visible cells? I know there is a way to automate the pasting process using only visible cells; however, this question pertains to when a user manually copies and pastes values.
