i need some help with a macro:

I need the macro to read one line from a txt file and make this number
a variable

WHAT number? And what do you mean "make this number a variable"?

Do you mean have a variable and set its value to soemthing? If so...WHAT number?

What have you got so far? Reading a line of text gives you...a line of text. I am unclear as to to what is supposed to be a number.
