I have 1 row of account numbers and all I want to do is scan that one row within itself and find any duplicate accounts I may have listed and once found delete the duplicate.

Found other similiar problems on here posted but did not see anything that would help me out.

Please help, thanks!!

What does delete mean in terms of a cell value?

I actually found another forum post that highlighted the duplicate entries for me , also found using conditional formatting works too.

Thanks for the reply but I got the problem solved

Hi there,

Glad you found a solution :-)

Atop your first post, under the Thread Tools button, there is a Solved option. This helps prevent 'answerers' from wasting time looking through threads that are already solved :-)

Care to post your solution so that others may also benefit? After all you did raise the issue here in a public forum.

I actually just ended up using conditional formatting since all my data was in one column.

Clicked "Format" on menu bar than "Conditional Formatting"

I used the following formula under "Formula Is" :
=countif(a$1:a1000,a1)>1

Click on Format, go to patterns tab, than just pick any color.
Once you run the condition for the whole column it'll highlight the duplicates whatever color you chose.
