Many military technical manuals conain a List of Effective Pages (LOEP). I would look something like this:

Page CHG Date
Title Original 12/15/2002
Pages 1 - 4 CH-1 10/6/2005
Page 5 Original 12/15/2002
Page 6 CH-2 9/23/2006
Pages 7-23 CH-1 10/6/2005

and so on.

Page numbers, change numbers, and date are typically in the header or footer.

I have not even began to see how this could be automated. I figured I would ask here first if anyone has created a process for created a LOEP.

Thanks.

Oh my goodness. Nope, can't say I have. How on earth is that data supposed to be retained in Word???

Gerry,

It was a question directed at me and I really didn't have time to deal with it. Just taking a stab, I suppose that since the change number and date data is part of the header then each shift from one change to the other would have to be preceeded by a section break. There may be some way to process the section colleciton and extract the data but it seem it would be very complicated.

Like I say. I don't have time to try and succeed or try and fail either.

Thanks.

Maybe, but I an doubtful. To count on hard section breaks done every time there is a change seems, ummmm, far-fetched.

Although, IF this is true...

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
