Unique Only Count

From the data provided in the attached workbook (Test Macro Tables.xlsx) - sheet 1, I want to create a table displaying defect count by responsible person in sheet 2, and a defect count by responsible area in sheet 3 (example tables provided).

Note the column totals are in decreasing order as well as the row totals.

Also note that each week these tables need to be created, and may have different defects, responsible persons, and responsible areas in the sheet 1 data (over 100 possible defects and over 20 possible responsible areas in reality).

Can the creation of these pivot tables be automated with a macro? The end game is for the macro to spit out these tables and then create bar charts based on the results.

This is just a small step that's giving me trouble in the much larger macro I've written already.
