Update textbox during presentation

I'm trying to create a pp slideshow where I have a text box on every slide. The text box needs to display dynamic data that can be updated during the presentation (without interrupting the presentation).

I have the option to use 2 computers or dual screen. I originally was thinking display the contents from a cell in excel, but I need to make sure that when I update the excel file, the text box on pp updates during the presentation.

Is this possible? How can I accomplish this? Can someone please offer me a vba code or other option?

I need this by Wednesday, so a quick response would be extremely helpful!
