I have created a Word 2003 template on a Windows 7 system, but when I open it up on my Windows XP machine, i am unable to access the header/footer.

View->Header and Footer simply does nothing.

Have anyone seen this "bug" before?

Hmm, that is weird. View->Header and Footer should not depend on the document content at all; it is just a different view.

In order to find out more about this, I would experiment a bit. Can you use View->Header and Footer on other documents on that computer? What happens when you create a document on the XP computer, edit it a bit on your Win7 machine, and open it again in the XP box?

Agreed. That is strange. jorgenho, please follow Sebastian's suggestion and experiment a little and let us know. If you are using 2003 on Windows XP, or Windows 7, it should not make thi skind of difference.

Seems like the document was corrupted in some way. The header/footer worked fine in other documents on Windows XP. Had to create a new version of the template in Windows XP, now it works on all platforms. Weird :S

Thanks for feedback!
