Create workbook from template, enable link updating

I have code that creates a new workbook from a template, saves and closes it. The template workbook contains formulas linking cells from other workbooks. Each time I create the new workbook, it disables linking of cells from other workbooks, thus the cell contents don't update as they should.

Is there a way around this, to enable cell linking automatically?

Have you tried toggling the Preferences>Edit>Ask to Update Links option in the template?
