Is it possible to create a calendar with a po-up messabox based on checkboxes?

I have a calander that when the user clicks a date it auto-populates a blank textfield box. Is it possible based on a checkbox on my form that when the user clicks a date on the calendar that the records that have been checked display a pop-up message "unavaliable" and if the form isn't checked when the user clicks on a date it displays "available". The data is regarding the checkboxes are joined to dates and are stored on a table which is displayed on a form, Is this possible to create? If so, how can this be done? Would you have any examples?
