hi
i am using word for a work time sheet, on the top row is the week beginning date and then after each day of the week is its relevant date, is it possible to record a macro to input the date next to each day after inputting the week beginning date?

week beginning - 01/01/2011

monday - 01/01/2011 (to be input automatically)
tuesday - 02/01/2011
wednesday - 03-01-2011
ect..

thank you
ash

Hi ash,

It's certainly 'do-able', even without a macro. However, Excel is much better suited to creating timesheets. Apart from anything else, Excel is designed to do all the calculations that you might need for a timesheet.

Ash, please see the attached excel. I hope this will help.
For your ease, date week beginning is highlighted.
You just need to change the date, rest all changes automatically.

thanks very much for your help although i would prefer to do this in word as i do know a fair bit about excel so would not be a problem for me this is actually a company i work for so was just trying to make it easier for the other guys as we all have time sheets in word (provided by the boss) so if possible to save confusion i would like to keep it in word.
thanks again for your help though

Hi ashgull,

To see how to do this and just about everything else you might want to do with dates in Word without vba, check out my Microsoft Word Date Calculation Tutorial, at:
http://lounge.windowssecrets.com/index.php?showtopic=249902 (wlmailhtml:{C7EF91AA-B2C7-45B8-98CA-046449FCFFF9}mid://00000076/!x-usc:http://lounge.windowssecrets.com/index.php?showtopic=249902)
or

In particular, look at the item titled 'Calculate a Date Sequence'. Do read the document's introductory material.

If you want a vba solution, you will need to provide details on how the vba code could determine where each date has to go (attaching a sample document to your post would help).
