Excel keeps switching between 'ready' and 'chart updating'

Hi,

I notice this problem when I have an Excel file, with a large chart, open. It occurs sometimes and not every time. My Excel essentially freezes, with the status bar in the bottom left corner switching between ‘ready’ and ‘chart updating’.

I can’t do anything in Excel. I have to kill and restart Excel to get out of that situation. What seems to be the problem?

I understand that it is an annoying problem, but I think nobody can pinpoint to the solution with the little info you are providing.
Could you attach the workbook to your next post?
