View Full Version : Word 2007 Content Controls button solution?

I have a Word 2007 document. I'm using Content Controls to capture user input and also to protect content from unintentional edits. I'm also launching some VBA procedures via command buttons (ActiveX), since there's no button Content Control.

So now, when the document is first opened, before the user enables macros, the read-only content controls are editable. The document itself stays in Design Mode until the macros are enabled. I've read this is due to the mixing of Content Controls and ActiveX controls. My question is, what should I use in place of a button? Using a drop-down for things like my Update Totals and Clear Form buttons seems silly. What's a good option?

What's a good option?How about a custom ribbon? (http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/Customize_Ribbon.htm)
