View Full Version : What's the proper name for the "flyout" thing on the RIBBON?

I'm doing some ribbon customizing and I'd like to know more about the "flyout" capability. It's the tiny arrow in the very lower-right corner of some ribbon groups (Word2007/10). It appears on the Font group (Home tab) for example. See it on attached image.

I can't research it because I don't even know what it's called.

Flyout?
Flyout anchor?
Dialog box pointer?
Wormhole?

The actual button is called a dialog launcher, I believe.

What appears when you hover is the combination of a screen tip and a super tip.

Yep, that's it. Now I'm getting some hits.

dialogBoxLauncher Element

Launches dialog boxes and can launch a userform.

Thanks
