Set Formula and Notify if changed

Hi,

Would like to ask if there's a way to set specific formulas to an excel workbook and when the set formula is changed, an error will pop up or its visible?

Is this Circular Reference?

Instead of popping message / alert, why don't you protect these cells? Is there any reason?

Actually i already have a plan of proctecting them once im done with the file, but since this will be used for a long time and will be used as basis for incentives/bonus, i would like to make sure of the following:

1. That the formula references will not change, or if it does change, i can be notified or show an error that the formula reference is different than previous and approve the change.

2. I myself, can track if I'm changing the formula and if Im using the correct reference.
