I have a Product Order list, with col A - serial code, col B - Items name, col C - Price, col D - qty ordered

I don't want to delete anything, but I want to keep track of knowing which categories with no orders.. I want to put a "X" aside of that particular category.

For each particular category, its interior colour will be yellow.

Pls see attached example.

Thanks in advance!

Have you considered using Conditional formatting on the Qty column cells to apply a color if the value is less than 1? That would be the simplest way of achieving this (select the column then go to Format>Conditional formatting... and set up condition 1) - it doesn't give you your X but it's a nifty little native Excel feature all the same
