View Full Version : User To Choose Number And Assign To Variable

Hi Guys,

How do I allow the user to enter any number they want on a slide? I want to assign that number to a variable.

For example, I want the user to write the number of children they are bringing to the hotel, assign that to a variable and then get how much that would cost by timizing that variable by the cost (and then adding it to other costs such as the number of adults) then giving that cost to the user in a text box. I can do most of the things here, just not the bit where the user enters the information.

[I'm using Powerpoint 2007]

Thanks,

Eden

Have a look here (http://www.pptalchemy.co.uk/Downloads/Children.pptm) for some ideas.

To see code right click textbox (the white one!)

Thanks John.

Really appreciate you helping me with all my problems (so far :)). If there's anything I can ever do for you, just ask!

I guess you noticed the typo - costs are based on £13.50!

Do you think you could go through the VBA (perhaps with comments) to show me what bit does what, I'm running very low on time ATM as it is for a project that is due in soon! :help

Thanks,

Eden

EDIT: How on Earth do I get the code to run without having it linked to by an action?
EDIT2: It also crashes (the Children powerpoint) if I enter 99999 or more (not the main problem though)

Wow....

REALLY appreciate you making that video for me. Helped loads with my understanding of the code. With that in mind, I should easily be able to get it working in my powerpoint now (I can't do that now though, as back at home)

Yeah, if there's anything I can EVER do for you, just get in touch [I'll PM you my e-mail address]. Even if I can't do it, I know a lot of people who work in lots of different industries who can do things for you for free (or with a very heafty discount :)).

Thanks Again,

Eden
