Is vba a powerful language like vb.net?

Hello,

I'm just wondering how powerful a language vba is? Like can it read from a database and spit out information from a database?

I'm only asking because I've taken up a new job and I would like to make a program that would spit out procedures for a certain subject if I put in either a keyword or the PK from the database and it would spit out the procedures in a text field.

I know it's easily doable in vb.net but I've never used vba and it's all I have access to at work.

Would this project be doable in vba?

You could do it without any code in Access.
