unzipped worksheet - protection

Hello,

Does anyone know how Excel stores sheet protection passwords.

I create a workbook, protect sheet1 with password "phil"

I then save the workbook as a zipped folder and open the "worksheets" xml file and under sheetProtection password it says "CA87"

Does anyone know how how this code is generated and how to go from one to the other
