Merge two backup (outlook files) of same address

I wonder if it is possible to merge two backup of the same address.
Explaining:
I have found an old backup from one of my addresses that I thought it was lost after a crash of one of my computers. After that, I have created that same address in a new computer and naturally it created a new outlook file. Now that I've found the old backup, I wish I could recover old mails, notes and contacts and add them to the current outlook file.
Is it possible?
Note1: The old outlook backup is from office 2003 and now I'm working with Office 2007.
Note2: The old backup size is about 8 GB.

What your describing sounds like a once-only task, so you can do this without VBA. You can just open both files in Outlook (with File - Outlook - Data File) and then drag and drop the items from one to the other. If you have your items in many folders, it may be most convenient to search for all items (either leaving the criteria empty or using whatever criteria describe the mails that you still care about) and then select all items and drag them from there.
