Pivot Table Help

I have a spreadsheet with pivot tables..... My question is ..... why does this make the spreasheet size (mb) huge! & is there a way i can speed the sheet/calcs up ?

You haven't given us any information. How much data did you load in the pivottable? Are you referring to the size of the saved file or how much memory it's using?

Excel compresses pivottable data when it saves the file and it's about as efficient as it can be. When you load the file and start using it Excel expands the data to its full uncompressed size in memory. I deal with pivottables with over a gigabyte of data and Excel handles it pretty well. 64-bit Excel handles multi-gigabyte data pretty well, too.
