Solved: sumproduct question

hi,

i need help with 2 formulaes based on date ranges.
column a contains my dates; column b are the widget types and column c is the count of the widget type.
i need a monthly summary of the data in columns g,h,i and k,l,m.

can i use sumproduct to accomplish this? or is it easier to do the calculation with vba?

nicely done! i could never understand the power of sumproduct. i have read Bob's (xld) in depth explanation but i still struggle with this.
