I know how to create a button in PP 2010 that launches a macro when I'm in slideshow view. Is there a way to put a button on a slide that you can click to launch a macro while the presentation is in Normal View? Thanks.

There's no way to do this really.

You should add a button to the RIBBON.

There's a very basic tutorial on our site

Thanks John. I've actual done that before. However, when I send the slides/set of macros to someone else the button in the ribbon didn't seem to come along for the ride. Is there a way to add a button to the ribbon so when you send the slides to someone else the button appears on their ribbon?

Did you use the exact method in my tutorial??

You can download the file from here (http://www.pptalchemy.co.uk/Downloads/Ribbon.pptm) and see if it works.

I went to the tutorial and tried to download the "Custom UI Editor." However, when I clicked the link I got the following message:

I went on line and found another source for downloading the UI Editor. It seems to work great. Thanks yet again John. You might want to check your link (see my note above). John

The CustomUi Editor isn't one of our programs and I guess the link has changed since I wrote the tutorial. I've corrected the link to point at the new download.

Thanks for letting us know!

This should be a direct link (http://openxmldeveloper.org/cfs-file.ashx/__key/communityserver-components-postattachments/00-00-00-72-93/OfficeCustomUIEditorSetup.zip):

Thank you. Your solution works great. I didn't have any trouble installing and using the editor.

And of course that's just the basics! You can add buttons, menus, galleries - pretty well anything in the normal ribbon to any existing tab or a new tab.

And of course there's the Office 2007 Ribbon forum right here in VBX
