Hi there,

Is there some VBA script that will make the contents of a header read-only?

Thanks,

Rob.

Hi Rob,

Other than applying forms protection to the document (which you could do by insterting a continuous Section break as the very first thing in the document, then protecting only the first Section), there is little that can be done. Before going down that path, though, you'd need to take account of the other editing restrictions that would impose on the remainder of the document.

An alternative might be to convert the header to a high-res image, which would make it more difficult to edit. Of course, if the header has text etc that, when converted, looks just the same as ordinary text, there'd be nothing to stop a miscreant from placing a textbox over it and putting something else there. This could even be done if you use the protection method outlined above.
