drop-down list in Word's Hyperlink

How to create a drop-downlist in Word hyperlink,say
abc
123
zxc
when I choose 123 and click on link, a Excel file will be download

I could be wrong, but I think the only way to tackle this is to have a dropdown control (Word forms perhaps?) with vba triggered when the user selects an option - not really a hyperlink.

Well the contents of a dropdown are strings. Not themselves hyperlinks. Perhaps ContentControls can be made differntly, I don't know.

Some clarity on what is meant by "dropdown" would help.
