Hi, :banghead:
I´m searching for a regular expression that will find words in Word
that start with ge or be or her or ver and have a d or a t ending.
(in Dutch ¨voltooide deelwoorden).
<(ge|be|her|ver)*(d|t)>
This code does not do the trick, any clues?
Thanks
Eelco

About the closest you'll get is:
<[gbhv]e[! ]@[dt]>
Note that, whilst this will find her*t & ver*t, the 'r' is not a limiting condition, so 'heat' & 'vent', etc will also be found. Conversely, words like 'get' & 'bet' will not be found.

Works like a charm Paul!
Do you also have an idea how to exclude
- specific words or/and
- words shorter than 6 letters?
Thanks

Sure I do, but it would require a macro.

Hi Paul, That´s quick
I mean within the regex you gave me <[gbhv]e[! ]@[dt]>
For it works well and recognizes the correct words but some words do not belong to lists I would like to highlight in a text. The maco is a simple search and replace.
I replace with ^& while making it bold. Some words, usually shorter words, do not belong to the list. It would be beautiful to do this in the regular expression and not in a long macro.
Thanks

As I said, it would require a macro.
