Hi, thanks for looking and I hope you can help
I want use the facilty of either using hyperlink to an external document or attach it to a Access form
As I wont be the person doing the attaching or linking, I want to make it easy and foolproof.
I can set up attachment fields and that seems the easiest from my point of view, but it appears there may be limits to the overall size of the attached documents, which means that Linking is probably the best solution.
Having said that how many PDF docs at say 150kb would a database hold, and would they slow the database down in any way. Im not sure but doesnt an attachment "create" a copy of the original PDF so if the original was deleted the attachement would still be available, safe within access, whereas a link is vunerable in this respect
For the user Linking means more menus to negotiate, is there a code which would make this easier
