In B1:B20, use CF with a formula of

=AND(A1>="1st",A1<=3rd")

Hi Xld

Placed this formula on another sheet =AND(E111>"1st",E111<="3rd")

1st does not work on entering however entering 2nd or 3rd works perfectly

What have I not entered correctly ??

Thanks for the help

It should work (and did for me, even down converting for excel 2003). I suspect there may be a leading (or middle) space in "1st" in E111. Trailing spaces are OK and middle spaces are sometimes acceptable but leading spaces cause a fail.

Hi Guys

Thanks for the info all working OK after sorting out space errors and delayed reply due internet downtime.
