using excel to fill online form

I guess i'm a newb. ^ . I'm trying to fill an online form using excel data. I've thrown myself into this endeavor after getting tired of my job. I'm cataloging philosophy articles for a non-profit. I'm confident that I can write the code to query the pages to get the relevant data (title author, DOI number, etc) but I can't figure out how to then take the excel cells with the data that I get and automatically post them to an online form. It's Java POST method I think.
