highlight data in report

In an access report, I am setting the backcolor on fields to yellow if they meet criteria but it does it right for the first record/page but then just uses the same highlighting for succeeding records/pages. it doesn't seem to retest the data? does anyone know what i'm doing wrong.

It would help to have a few more details.

1) Are you viewing the report in Print Preview mode or Report View mode?

2) how are you setting the backcolor? VBA or Conditional formatting?

If VBA it would help if you post your code.
