Word 97-2003 Document opens requesting a password...

Hello,

I have a word 97-2003 document that when opened it asks for a password. In any of the areas that protection or restrictions could be applied to the document, there is no indication that it has any protection applied. Any idea why it would be requesting a password if it doesn't seem to have any protection applied to it?

Somebody gave it a password to open. There are two types of possible password requirements: one to open the document itself, and one to do types of editing. It sounds like it has the first. Although it is not exactly clear. Can you in fact open it?
