Hi Please help me create some formulas to get my excel sheet working

How do materials relate to the job? You can't put them in a delimited list like you do (well you could, but it makes hard and you would have no validation of input).

The labour and materials make up the total cost of the job. The labour is based on an hourly rate and the materials are broke down into individual units

Im not sure the best way to lay the table out so any advice welcome

Try the following workbook. I set up your Material/Labour as a table on Sheet 2 and simply used a Vlookup to find the costs per unit on Sheet 1
