View Full Version : Information sheet or message in xlam?

I have a xlam file that can install itself on a computer, but it requires macros to be enabled.

Can I add a sheet or background picture or message or anything that tells the user to enable macros?
Now when you open the file you get a "empty" window, basicly just gray.

What I want is something else than the gray telling the user everything is as it's supposed to be.

Any suggestions?

An .xlam is always hidden. And you can't run code to unhide it for obvious reasons. Default settings for Office allow macro code to run in installed add-ins, so I'm not sure why you are having an issue, really.

Sorry, maybe I was unclear.

If the file is not installed (xlam is placed on the desktop for example) and user opens the xlam he/she will get a message asking if they wish to install it.
And if yes, then it will install itself in the addins folder and activate itself.
All this is working

I just want to replace the gray background with something else when you open the xlam.

But if it's hidden as you say then I guess there isn't much that can be done.
