I have attaced a jpeg file that a friend wanted to extract the text from. He tried a few shareware/freeware products with limited results. I read that OneNote had supplanted MODI for OCR needs. I pasted the jpeg into OneNote (Office 2013), right-clicked and chose extract text from image and it worked perfectly. Unfortunately, OneNote (2010) just gives back garbage.

Why such a dramatic difference. Hoping some reading this can test with either 2010 or 2013 and confirm. I would appreciate it greatly.

In 2010 it came out pretty badly, as L..ifl€, in 2013 it looked good, Score -11656.

Thanx xld;

Pretty much the 'way to go Microsoft!'

I'm not sure many are taking the leap from 2010 to 2013 (businesses) and 365 is a cheaper option.

365 is a cheaper option up-front, but long-term? ANd factor Power BI in, and it ain't at all cheap.
