View Full Version : ADDIN doesn't show when opening existing spreadsheet

Hello all,

This is my first post, I couldn't see another similar and hope my eyes do not deceive me... gulp.

So I've created an AddIn to Excel 2010. It seems to work fine for me but when installed on another computer the button only shows up in the ribbon when they are opening a new spreadsheet and not when opening an existing file (which is what it is designed to work with). Any ideas why this would be or how to troubleshoot it? Of possible noteworthiness is that the .xlam file is on the desktop for the other computer, but has been installed by Excel.

Not without some idea of the ribbon XLM and the code that launches it all.

I didn't use XML but VBA to create a button in the Add-In tab. It actually worked with a computer restart #embarrassing! I didn't have access to the other computer and so was pretty limited in what I could do.
